Faculty

Dylan Edwards
Visiting Scientist

Dr Edwards is on sabbatical from Western Australia where he holds a Senior Faculty position in Human Motor Control/Learning, as well as a Hospital Research position in Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr Edwards has a broad background and experience in;
1. Clinical and basic neuroscience - PhD thesis (human sensorimotor integration, including TMS, TES and peripheral nerve stimulation), clinical investigations (stroke, Parkinson's disease, other neuromuscular diseases), graduate/undergraduate lecturing (human motor control and motor learning), post-graduate research supervision.
2. Physical rehabilitation - clinical experience (neurological, musculoskeletal,
cardiopulmonary) - particularly exercise rehabilitation, graduate/undergraduate lecturing, and BSc (Hons) Physio, BAppSc (Hons) ExPhysiol

Research Interests / Research Focus

My main research interests are to understand and promote neuroplasticity following brain lesion, and in particular, using controlled physical rehabilitation (robotics), combined with non-invasive brain stimulation.

My personal interests include guitar playing, hiking, surfing, kayaking, and playing with my 8yo son.
