June 3-4, 2013 at the Institut Guttmann in Barcelona, Spain

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is a technique of noninvasive brain stimulation established nearly 75 years ago. Today, tDCS is seeing a resurgence in both the clinical and academic research fields. Through lectures and hands-on practice, this course will introduce students to the theoretical aspects of tDCS and help develop proper skills for practical application.

The Institut Guttmann opened in Barcelona in 1965. It was the first hospital in Spain caring for paraplegic and tetraplegic patients. Subsequently, it began to treat other diseases affecting the central nervous system and causing severe disabilities, particularly cerebrocranial trauma. It is currently housed in a modern and comfortable purpose-designed building of more than 17,000 square metres. This building was opened in 2002 in Badalona (7 km from Barcelona on the motorway).
