Introduction to Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) in Neuropsychiatric Research

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is a technique of noninvasive brain stimulation established nearly 75 years ago. Today, tDCS is seeing a resurgence in both the clinical and academic research fields. Through lectures and hands-on practice, this course will introduce students to the theoretical aspects of tDCS and help develop proper skills for practical application.
Registration
To register for this course, first complete the online application on the Berenson-Allen Center website. You can access the online application here.
Once your application is submitted, you will need to pay the course tuition fee on the registration page of the Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education. A link to this page will be sent to the email address you provide on the course application. Once the tuition fee is paid, you will be officially enrolled as a participant.
"Stimulating Brain Function" Conference
In partnership with local and international organizations, the Berenson-Allen Center will be participating in the one-day conference immediately following the course, entitled, Stimulating Brain Function: Optimizing Brain Performance Using Noninvasive Brain Stimulation. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Casa Macaya in Barcelona, Spain.

Cost and Accommodations
Tuition for the 2-day course is $1,000. Accommodations are not included. There is no cost for participation in the open lecture day.
Location
The Institut Guttmann opened in Barcelona in 1965. It was the first hospital in Spain caring for paraplegic and tetraplegic patients. Subsequently, it began to treat other diseases affecting the central nervous system and causing severe disabilities, particularly cerebrocranial trauma. It is currently housed in a modern and comfortable purpose-designed building of more than 17,000 square metres. This building was opened in 2002 in Badalona (7 km from Barcelona on the motorway).
